The house has been lovingly refurbished to a modern standard, while embracing the character of the property and retaining much of its historic fabric. It now houses a selection of apartments which can cater for groups of all sizes. Many attractions are close by, including Kylemore Abbey, just a two-minute drive away, and Connemara National Park and Killary fjord at Leenane are both within five minutes’ drive. Glassilaun beach at Renvyle can be reached in ten minutes by car. Fishing is available on nearby lakes including Lough Inagh and Kylemore Lough. A lake boat is available for fishing on Kylemore Lough by prior arrangement with the property manager. Walking trails including The Western Way are all within close reach. The Connemara Food experience (Local cuisine food trucks) is served daily close by. Guests are welcome to some seasonal vegetables grown on site. The nearest villages are Letterfrack, Tullycross and Leenane, all 10 minutes by car, and will provide you with all you need for your self-catering stay. Clifden town is a 20-minute drive and is host to larger supermarkets and services. A little further afield are Westport and Galway city – both within an hour’s drive. The apartment is located on the first floor of Kylemore House, and the accommodation is over two levels. The first level includes kitchen and dining, living room, bathroom, laundry room, and a large bedroom, sleeping 3. The upper level is accessible by spiral staircase and is home to the mezzanine bedroom with two single beds for children. The mezzanine bedroom area is suitable for children only due to low head clearance. Upon entering the apartment, you will find yourself in the modern combined, well-equipped kitchen and the comfortable dining area. The kitchen includes kettle, toaster, dishwasher, fridge freezer, oven, hob, and microwave, as well as ample storage and all necessary equipment including silverware, crockery, utensils, pots, and pans. A laundry area is housed adjacent to the kitchen and is accessible by descending four steps. The living area includes comfortable sofa and armchair and large flat screen multi-channel smart TV. From the living room, you will descend three steps to a spacious bedroom and a bathroom. The bedroom can sleep 3. It contains a king size bed, and a single bed. It is well furnished and offers woodland, lake, and mountain views. The tiled bathroom is also on this level and includes large shower cubicle, WC, and sink. A spiral staircase in the living room gives access to the upper mezzanine area – the additional sleeping area furnished with two single beds for children. Timber floors throughout, and floors of varying levels with internal steps. Access to the apartment is via stairs. Please note there is no lift in the building.
