Inchagoill Island is the fourth largest island on Lough Corrib and is situated approximately half way between Cong Co. Mayo and Oughterard Co. Galway, approximately 4.5 miles from each. Inchagoill Island offers amazing beauty and serenity with beautiful woodlands, coves and bays that are ideal for picnics and swimming in the clear unspoiled waters of Lough Corrib. This is the most visited of all of the approximately 365 islands on Lough Corrib. It is also home to a number of ancient monastic ruins. Close to the pier is “Teampall Na Naoimh” translated as the “Church of the Saints”. The stone of Lugnad and St.Patrick’s church are situated quiet close to each other, about 100 meters west of Teampall Na Naoimh.
