Inisheer (Inis Oírr), the smallest of the Aran islands and is shrouded in a distinctive charm with the true feel of a classical isolated fishing village. At the pier you are greeted with a white sandy beach beside clear water, the fishing boats with fisherman returning at the end of the day with their catch. The main village area is beside the beach, sheltered by a small hill with a castle and a fort watching over its people. The island is small enough to be explored on foot or by bicycle with a few small hills and valleys. Visit the lighthouse or the shipwreck of the Plassy, this place is for exploring. The island village has a strong traditional community. Its traditional music bar has a nationwide reputation for the finest music and great night out. There are plenty places to see, to eat, to drink and enjoy the island experience.
