Lough Mask is a limestone lough of some 20,000 acres, and 10 miles long by about 4 miles wide. The lake is popular for its trout fishing and it is very popular with anglers from all over the world. Mask offers the angler enormous variety with vast areas of productive water. The World Cup Trout Fly Fishing Championship takes place annually on Lough Mask at Cushlough Bay near Ballinrobe.
