A spacious cottage situated on an elevated site at Maam, Connemara, offering views of Lough Corrib and Castlekirk. Also knows as “Joyce Country”, this is a very popular area for lake fishing and hill walking. The area boasts wonderful ancient woodlands, rivers, lakes and countryside, overshadowed by the Maamturk Mountains, and all waiting to be explored. The Western Way, a long-distance walking trail, can be joined at Maam and will take you to the ancient site of Mámean. Local fishing lakes include Lough Corrib, Lough Mask and Lough Nafooey. Cong village and Ashford Castle are a 15-minute drive away. Leenane and the coastline at Killary Harbour can also be reached within a 15-minute drive.
